A Message from Possilpark Improvement District Chair

Jim Garrity

Possilpark Business Improvement District has been rebranded as Positive Possil.  This  reflects the businesses within Saracen Street and the wider area.  Furthermore, it aligns with the vision and aspirations of the Improvment District to make the area flourish.

As Chair of the Improvement District, I have been working on various areas of governance,  levy drawdown, communication and ongoing work with local businesses.

Over the past months, there has been a strong effort to re-engage with the businesses within Possilpark through individual meetings with traders, information events, Scotland Loves Local Week event, and most recently 'Tea with Traders' events.  We have also provided updates on the progress with 'Positive Possil' to elected members and community members through a series of informal meetings.

Over the past number of weeks we have undertaken walkabouts  alongside members of our 'environmental working group' to highlight issues and progress these with partners.

As we approach the Festive Season, we are working with a variety of businesses and partners on seasonal activities and we will continue to update on progress within this area.

The new 'Positive Possil' website contains information on the Improvement District, its aims and objectives, action areas, details on levy, a Business Directory, space for business and community updates and useful contacts page. We are pleased to say this is now complete and we will be organising a launch of the website with local businesses, partners and community in the coming weeks.
